A mum-of-two captured the moment her five-year-old son realised he won’t be living with her forever – and it’s heartbreaking.
Caitlin Fladager was watching TV with her son Jack when he noticed that the character on the programme didn’t live at home with his parents and was quick to ask his mum why that was.
Caitlin tried to explain to him that once children grow older they eventually move out, but Jack’s response was both heartbreaking and sweet at the same time.
The adorable tot started bawling at the thought of a life living without his mum and the Canadian mum managed to capture the moment on camera.
Caitlin shared the video of what some people are calling “The sweetest thing ever” with her 329,000 Instagram followers and parents were bowled over with how pure Jack was.
She took to Instagram to say: “Jack and I were watching a show on TV.
“He asked about why the character doesn’t live at home with his mummy anymore. So I tried to explain to him that people usually move out of their mum’s house when they get older.”
The post was viewed 52,500 times and received hundreds of comments from mums calling Jack’s reaction “precious.”
One said: “This is adorable. Make sure to show him this when he hits his teens and says he can’t wait to move out.”
Another joked: “K someone’s cutting onions up in here.”
A third commented: “That’s probably the sweetest thing ever.”
Whilst others were keen to share their experiences too.
One said: “My 4 year old son told me he’s going to stay home forever because I feed him… LOL no other reasons.”
Another added: “Omg I’m getting to this stage with my wee boy too.. he’s only just realised what happens to Simba’s dad in the lion king and started crying to me last week saying “Simba’s daddy was squashed and is dead and going to the sky.”
